Two days ago, Exabytes had its tenth Exabytes Designer Club gathering entitled “Animation Revolution Technology”. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming.

With much excitement and anticipation, the gathering kicked off with an opening speech made by Mr. Leong Wai Khong, the Head of Multimedia Design Department at The One Academy.
For this gathering, we were so glad to have invited five speakers with very different backgrounds. To give you more insights into this exciting event, we’ve included the pictures below each with a brief description of what was happening.
Kendrick Ng – Chief Creative Strategist of Social Grooves Solutions Sdn. Bhd. Author of #kendylife, Doodler & web comic artist.
Topic: The Future of Art & Social Media
Kendrick shared on how designers would learn the most updated and efficient way to connect with clients and people around them, especially in the topics of art. Kendrick as a very good example manages his own Instagram and Facebook account with a huge amount of supporters.
Chun Woei – Founder of Urban Cr3ature
Topic: The Alternate Storytelling
Chun Woei gave a talk on the topic how Urban-Cr3atures comes to a trailer maker trip and their trailers ideas. Through the making, the alternate storyline is used to tell the story of the movie. The story is important to build expectation of the audiences all around the world. He also shared on the process of compositing and the experiences with after effects.
Jason Choo – Lead Character Animator of Alfa and Friends
Topic: Animation Reality
Jason works as a character animator. He shared his talk in a special way. Guess what? Jason created a story which is able to connect to his topic. He used the story to express the reality of animation. This was a great way to reach the heart of EDC members!
Wei Sheng – Program Manager of Penang Science Cluster
Topic: Exploring the world of Lego Robotics
The interesting part for robotics lovers! Lego is normally motionless. BUT Wei Sheng made them move! He introduced Lego Robotics and the mechanism behind it, and brought us into the world of Lego Robotics through different types of robots.
Man Kong – Founder & Director of MK E Comm Marketing Ent.
Topic: VR & Google Street & 360 degree video shooting
Thanks to Man Khong & EDC, we had the chance to try on Virtual Reality! Technology is really getting more sophisticated day by day. Our members were truly excited by the VR experience. Man Khong was kind enough to help the members to try on the high-tech devices, and explained to them how they function. Oh yeah! He also let some of us to play Insidious on the VR gadget. Exceptionally exciting and scary once the lights were turned off!
Besides inspiring sharing sessions by the speakers, Exabytes also brought BB8 to the gathering for EDC members to play with it. Our crew were there to explain and provide assistance.
